Bessemer Venture Partners has named Lance Co Ting Keh, who previously led AI projects at Alphabet Inc, as venture partner. Previously, he served as an operating advisor for the firm.
“Lance will apply his extensive background in applied artificial intelligence and machine learning toward conducting technical due diligence on early-stage AI opportunities and on supporting founders across the portfolio who are building in an applied setting,” Bessemer said in a statement.
Keh continues as CEO of OpenPay, a SaaS platform for subscription management that he co-founded in November 2023, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Previously, he was head of AI for early stage projects at Alphabet Inc from May 2019 to November 2023, his LinkedIn profile states. Before Alphabet, he served for about a year as a founding engineer at Cresta, which operates a generative AI platform, and was a software engineer for Box for about four years.
“Lance has emerged as a valuable thought leader on AI entrepreneurship as a Bessemer operating advisor,” says Bessemer partner David Cowan. “Entrepreneurs appreciate learning from his proximity to leading research settings and keen ability to incorporate the latest science into product-led growth strategies.”
Bessemer is currently investing from Bessemer Venture Partners XII, its 12th flagship fund, which closed on $3.85 billion in September 2022.
