Norwest Venture Partners has hired Will McCallum as a principal, head of debt capital markets and growth equity, according to a firm spokesperson.
Previously, McCallum was a member of the capital markets team at Gryphon Investors, “where he was responsible for analyzing, structuring, and executing financing transactions,” according to his biography on NVP’s website. Previously, he was an assistant vice president at Antares Capital where he underwrote loans supporting middle-market private equity transactions.
Norwest also has promoted Sameer Kapur to vice president on the growth equity team and Julia Lewis to principal, co-head of talent.
Kapur will continue to focus on enterprise software investments, and Lewis will continue to oversee the talent function of the growth equity team, in addition to broadening her scope to the Norwest healthcare practice.
Earlier this year, Norwest raised $3 billion for its 17th fund, hitting its fundraising target, as previously reported by Venture Capital Journal.
NVP 17 will continue Norwest’s strategy of investing in enterprise, consumer and healthcare businesses. The firm’s current venture and growth equity portfolio includes more than 230 companies, such as Vuori, Gong, Monogram Health and Five Star Finance.
Headquartered in Menlo Park, California, the firm has offices in San Francisco, Mumbai and Tel Aviv. It manages more than $15.5 billion in assets.
