Growth equity fund manager Siddhi Capital has launched a new venture capital vehicle, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing.
Siddhi FoodTech Scout Fund I is the first in a new line of investment funds that will back agtech start-ups in the food value chain.
The SEC filing does not disclose a fundraising target. Siddhi Capital co-founders and co-managing partners Steven Finn and Melissa Facchina are identified as executive officers of the food-tech fund, which is said to be headquartered in Boise, Idaho.
Siddhi Capital, which is based in New Jersey, was established in 2020 and closed its debut Siddhi Capital Fund I on $69 million in 2022. The consumer goods and food tech specialist followed this up with a $135 million close for its second flagship vehicle in July 2024.
Siddhi Capital has invested in more than 80 businesses to date and has had six exits.
Realized investments include salmon skin snacks provider GoodFish, plant-based pudding company Noops and craft sparkling water business Ugly, among others.
The asset manager has a live portfolio of more than 70 businesses including coffee alternative MUD/WTR, plant-based prepared meals provider Thistle, and novel foods developer Myco Technology, among others.
Siddhi Capital has more than $200 million in assets under management.
